In determining its gifts and grants, the Volentine Family Foundation Board of Directors considers those non-profit organizations that demonstrate a desire and means to support the following focus areas:

Education & Vocation

Education and Vocation – Grants are provided to educational institution, pre-k through post secondary levels, to enhance the learning environment. Educational grants may provide teacher support, small group learning or experiences within the classroom including before and after school programs. Grants may also provide opportunities by making higher education more accessible to a student who may not have the financial means to pursue higher education or vocational training.

Youth

The Foundation focuses grants that play a significant role in supporting youth programs; providing essential funding to initiatives that aim to enhance the well being, development and opportunities for young individuals. These programs should create opportunities, address challenges and empower youth to reach their full potential. The right opportunities play a vital role in shaping the future of communities by investing in our younger generation and encouraging them to set high goals and strive to make their dreams become realities.

Rehabilitation & Transition

Whether it is renewal of life after substance abuse, transition during hard times or recovery from physical ailments, the ability to start anew is a goal that the Foundation shares with those organizations it assists. Addressing drug and alcohol addiction is a complex challenge. The Foundation’s goal is to provide financial support for preventive and rehabilitation programs. Funding is for organizations that create a comprehensive and accessible network of services that help individuals treat, recover and build a healthier, substance-free life.

Community

The Foundation looks to provide grants for the sustainability and effectiveness of community programs, addresses a wide range of needs and challenges within our designated localities. They empower communities to make a positive impact, foster resilience and contribute to the overall well being of its residents.

The Volentine Family Foundation wishes we could fund all of the wonderful organizations that apply, however, like all foundations, we have limited resources. Our guidelines focus on the above core areas and we, by and large, limit our funding to specific locations (Santa Barbara, CA and Loveland, CO).  These locations remain special to our Founders and their families.
